What and where to eat in London

Updated: Feb 5, 2020

Many people think that London does not have a culinary scene, which is definitely not true. Actually, in my opinion, London has one of the most reach and interesting culinary scenes in the world.

Here are some of my favorite food options in London:

1. Kanada-Ya

Kanada-Ya is a small Japanese style fast food restaurant serving a variety of ramen soups. It’s really small and during the lunch time there is a long line outside of the restaurant. It’s worth waiting a few minutes (it usually does not take too long) to taste a bowl of their ramen.

Tips: Most of the dishes are very spicy, so if you’re not into spicy food, let them know in advance. My favorite dishes are Aburi Chashu, the seared chashu pork belly and Tonkotsu ramen.

Location: 64 St Giles High St, London

2. Flat Iron

You will not get much variety in this restaurant. They serve steaks. And they’re perfect!

Tips: Grab the Partizan beer and enjoy the meal.

Location (there are a few branches, but this one is my favorite): 9 Denmark St, London

3. Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack

If you’re into seafood and looking for the classic seaside-style fish and seafood restaurant with a clean, white interior, this is the place for you.

Tips: This can be a perfect meal for sharing. Try as much dishes as you can.

Location: 22 Bateman St, Soho, London
